Dead Week Schedule

This week, we finish the book!

Here is the reading schedule and the focus questions. You may want to keep your ideas in your journal as fodder for the final essay.

Monday - Discuss Chs. 10-12

  • HW: Ch.13 (What temptation is "Weston" offering Ransom? Why/how does Ransom finally silence him? How does Ransom attempt to comfort Weston?)
Tuesday - Discuss Ch.13
  • Read Ch.14 (What is the source for R's doubts? How does he react?)

Wednesday - Discuss Ch.14
  • Read Ch.15 (What is R's mental state in his rest? What does Perelandra mean by "All is taken from me"?)

Block Day - Discuss Ch.15, Read the end of the book!
  • Ch. 16 (What is the role of the eldila on Perelandra now? Ransom describes the look of charity on the angels' faces. How is it different from the human manifestation of charity?)
  • Ch. 17 (The king explains justice to Ransom. Contrast this law to our own version of justice.)
This weekend, you could write your final essay? Movie on finals day?
